Passing the most picturesque land strips of Central Vietnam, from historic monuments, flat country paths to hilly and steep winding roads, the biking trip offers plenty of chances to get deep insight through interactions with locals.

Itinerary
Day 01: Rural experience

• Cycling distance : 25-30km
• Duration : 6 hours
• Grade : Leisurely
• Route description : Flat.
• Meals : Lunch with local food

 

Following a small quiet path, bike south-west on flat terrain through the countryside. Your first stop at a fishing Village offers a great view of the harbour, woven boats and an overview at the local fishery. Continue to a nearby vegetable village. After learning about the traditional farming techniques, slide on small country roads, passing shrimp farms, rice fields, lush villages and old temples.

Cruise on Thu Bon River to Cam Kim Island and find out how locals catch fish with different kind of traps.  Continue to cycle to Duy Vinh to enjoy the scenic views of water palms, canals, rivers and farms.  Pop in  at a traditional wood boat building yard then a sedge field before visiting craft families who live on weaving bamboo into basket boats and sedge into colorful mats.

Lunch with authentic local taste will be hosted at a local home in Duy Vinh. You will join the host for preparation and learn about Vietnamese cuisine. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 02: Hai Van Pass - Lang Co – Tam Giang Lagoon – Hue

• Cycling distance : 60-80km
• Duration : 7-8 hours
• Grade : Moderate
• Route description : 10 km uphill (approx. 10%), 10Km downhill, the rest is flat.
• Meals : Lunch

 

Start on the beach with easy biking in warm fresh air. After a few kilometers, break with a photoshoot at a picturesque fishing village. Then start the moderate terrain ride along zigzag paths with stunning views, jungles, waterfalls and beaches. The 10-kilometer steep ride up to the summit of Hai Van Pass culminates in breathtaking views. After a rest on the summit, enjoy an exciting downhill ride to Lang Co for lunch.

After lunch, take an easy terrain ride to Tam Giang Lagoon on flat terrain in the countryside across beautiful villages, rice fields and hills. Then start to ride on the meandering hillside roads on Elephant Mountain. Dismounting, you will visit with local people and enjoy their daily activities through interaction and exploration. Overnight in Hue.

Day 03: Hue Imperial City

• Cycling distance : 30km
• Duration : 6 hours
• Grade : Moderate
• Route description : 70% flat & 30% hilly
• Meals : Lunch

Start with a leisure ride to the Imperial Citadel. Then explore the old quarter situated on the side of the imperial enclosure, passing through mossy tiled-roof villages with nice lush gardens, ancient architecture and canals.

Continuously ride along the romantic Perfume River, then cross the river to Thuy Bieu Pomelo Village. Slide around the village to explore the traditional cultivation of pomelo, old houses, temples and local life.

Visit a local home where your lunch will be hosted with authentic Hue styled food, herbal tea and chat with the host family. You will have 15 minutes to soak your feet in a basin of soothing herbal infusion for relaxation and hand on making sesame candies with the family.
